Karachi: The Pakistan Billiards & Snooker Federation PBSF has nominated the newly crowned world champion Muhammad Asif for the President’s Award for the Pride of Performance in the field of Sports for the year 2013.
The federation has recommended and nominated Muhammad Asif for his outstanding performance by winning the IBSF World Snooker title of 2012 for Pakistan in the recently concluded World Snooker Championship in Sofia, Bulgaria.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Hockey Federation PHF has recommended the name of Olympian Sohail Abbas, the highest goal scorer in the history of the game, for national Pride of Performance award for the year 2013.
The PHF has put forward the name of the seasoned Sohail Abbas, who holds the world record of scoring highest number of goals in international arena. He has scored 348 goals.
He is also the scorer of the highest number of goals 80 in a calendar year as well as the holder of the title of fastest century and double century of goals in international hockey.
The Pride of Performance awards’ ceremony is an annual spectacle of the country, and several people are nominated for the awards in different disciplines.
