Politics: Long March call conspiracy against democracy, says Firdous

Sialkot: Federal Minister for National Regulation and Services Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan has said that long march call was a conspiracy against democracy and nation. She added that PPP would not allow anyone to derail the democracy in the country as the Bhutto Family had ever strengthened the durable democracy in the country even by sacrificing their lives.

She stated this while addressing a public meeting at Koobay Chak near Sialkot after inaugurating the newly established National Savings Centre and Pakistan Postal Services Office on Sunday.

State Minister for Finance Saleem Mandviwala, Special Advisor to AJK Prime Minister Ch. Tahir Sultan, Director General Pakistan Postal Services Corporation Ghulam Punjtan Rizvi, Director General Central Directorate of National Savings Zafar Mehmood Sheikh, President Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry SCCI Sheikh Abdul Majeed, Chairman Sialkot International Airport Limited SIAL Ch. Muhammad Ashfaq and MPA Tahir Mehmood Hundali were also present on this occasion.

Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan added that the PPP was the guardian of the constitution and democracy in the country. She said that the true democracy and democratic norms and values were getting political boost now in the country followed by the effective political strategy of the PPP government, claiming that these political reforms were also bringing the positive democratic changes in the political attitude of the people. PPP government would never allow anyone to hatch a conspiracy against democracy and masses by giving the calls of long march, she added.

Federal Minister urged the masses to reject all those politicians who had shattered their trust and stole the mandate of the people and plundered the national exchequer in the past.
