Protest against school principal continues

Naudero, Sindh: More than 1800 girl students and their teachers at Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Naundero, continued their boycott on Tuesday when the schools reopened after winter vacation in protest against their school principal Zeenat Dogar.

Few teachers went to get smart cards from NADRA Larkana but most of the teachers remained in school without attending their classes.

Government Secondary School Teachers Association SGTA leader Abdul Rehman Supro told media that the principal had relieved their unit president Mahjabeen Bhutto of duty, a high school teacher of the school, adding the GSTA considers it retaliation by the principal to their protest against her. He warned that if the principal was not transferred immediately and enquiry against her is not ordered then education process in all schools of Larkana district will come to standstill.

Mahjabeen Bhutto told that she has not yet been given copy of the relieving order but she has learnt that she has been relieved off illegally by the principal. She said that the principal herself is in BPS18 and is a subject specialist hence her posting in the school is itself against the prevailing rules. She demanded a probe into alleged corruption and mismanagement in the affairs of school. She said that boycott of classes will continue until the principal is transferred.

Meanwhile, some students held a protest demonstration inside the school and chanted slogans against the principal demanding her immediate transfer.
