Sehrai, other leaders pay tributes to martyred youth

Srinagar, May 23, 2019 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, senior APHC leader and the Chairman of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai and other Hurriyat leaders and organizations have paid rich tributes to the two Kashmiri youth martyred by Indian troops in Kulgam district, yesterday. The troops martyred the youth, Zahid Ahmad Mantoo and Irfan Manzoor during a cordon and search operation in Gopalpora area of the district.

Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai in a statement issued in Srinagar said, “Kashmiri youth continue to render their lives for political birthright. We are indebted to these pious sacrifices and it is our moral and religious responsibility to safeguard these sacrifices collectively and individually.” He appealed to the world community and all international human rights organisations to take a strong note of the plight of Kashmiris and come forward for their rescue.

He said the Indian policy since inception speaks volumes of oppression and suppression. “These brutalities are committed to deter the people of Kashmir from raising their just voice. But let me reiterate that by using unbridled power such freedom movements never die,” he added.

APHC leader and the Chairperson of Muslim Khawateen Markaz, Yasmeen Raja visited the residence of martyr, Zahid Ahmad Mantoo, in Shopian and expressed solidarity with the bereaved family. Speaking to the mourners, she said India has forcibly occupied Kashmir and the people of Kashmir have been struggling for their birthright to self-determination. Yasmeen Raja and other APHC leaders including Bilal Siddiqi and Molvi Bashir Ahmad also visited Pando area of Kulgam and paid tributes to another martyred youth Irfan Manzoor.

Hurriyat leader, Mushtaq-ul-Islam in a statement in Srinagar, paying homage to the martyred youth said the people of Kashmir especially the youth illustrate their dedication and commitment to the freedom movement with broad vision and supporting ideology.

Illegally detained Chairman of Islami Tanzeem-e-Azadi, Abdul Samad Inqilabi in a statement in issued Srinagar said that killing and harassment could not suppress the Kashmiris’ ongoing liberation movement and they would continue their struggle till it reached its logical conclusion.

The Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Salvation movement, Zafar Akbar Butt, in a statement in Srinagar said that the sacrifices of Kashmiri martyrs would not go waste. On his instructions, a party delegation visited Shopian and Kulgam and expressed solidarity with the families of the martyred youth.
