SHC seeks comments on petition of special persons

Karachi: The Sindh High Court SHC has sought comments from the secretary special education department, and other respondents in a petition of 47 disabled persons seeking action against the illegal appointments in the special education department.

The petitioners, Sajid Hussain, Waseem Raza and other 45 disabled persons submitted that they had applied for the posts in the special education department on the contract basis in different scales following the advertisement published in various newspapers on September 11, 2012.

They submitted that secretary special education department had constituted a committee to make the process of recruitment fair and transparent.

They stated that they were declared the successful after thorough assessment and liable to be issued appointment orders. However they contended that they are waiting for the appointment orders but till today same have not been issued to them.

They said that they got information that all the process of recruitment has been cancelled by the respondents and appointment orders against the post for which they had applied, have been issued to those who even have not appeared in the tests.

They alleged that secretary special education department has appointed the blue eyed persons on his choice while ignoring the relevant rules and regulations.

Citing secretary special education department, section officer, special education and accountant general of Sindh as respondents they prayed court to declare the result sheet of walk in interview held on September 20, 2012 legal and suspend the appointment orders issued against the relevant rules and regulation.

The division bench headed by Justice Irfan Saadat Khan, issued notice to the respondents as well as advocate general of Sindh and put off the hearing till January 24.
