Shifting of Farooq Tawheedi to Baramulla jail denounced

Srinagar, July 04, 2021 (PPI-OT): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Jammu and Kahsmir Muslim League has strongly denounced the shifting of party leader Farooq Ahmad Tawheedi from Sopore police station to Baramulla jail.

A JKML spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said, Tawheedi was kept in Kotbhalwal jail for one year under black law Public Safety Act without any court hearing. However, instead of his release after one year, he was sent to Sopore police station.

“Now he has been shifted to Baramulla on judicial remand,” the spokesman said and added that his health condition has deteriorated in jail. He urged human rights organizations to play their role in his release.
