Sit-ins on roads cripple routine life in Karachi

Karachi: Sit-ins on roads at about a dozen places including M A Jinnah Road, Sharae Faisal, Main University Road and Shahrah-e-Pakistan crippled the routine life in Karachi on Monday.

Public transport in the city had already been off road on the call of Shia Ulema Council to condemn the deadly Quetta bomb blast. Protestors in big and small groups sat on roads, blocking free access of all kind of transport. Motorists had to use long alternate routes to reach their destinations.

Heavy contingents of police and rangers were present to control law and order situation in the city.
