KARACHI: Secretary Information Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Sindh Muhammad Aslam Ghauri said on Saturday that former and current rulers had put the country into deep crises, therefore, holding of free, fair and transparent elections could only pull the country out of these crises.
In a statement, the JUI-F leader said that honest, religious and patriotic leadership could pull the Pakistan out of the present troubled situation.
He said fair and transparent elections would be possible through noncontroversial election commission.
He said appointment of election commissioner had revived the hopes of many people that free and transparent elections would be possible, but the steps taken by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) had shattered all such hopes.
The JUI-F leader said tough conditions by the ECP had shut down the doors for poor, laborers and political workers to contest the elections.
Ghauri said practically it was impossible to act on code of conduct set by the ECP as it seemed that all decisions had been made by while sitting in air-condition rooms. “The role of ECP is very important in upcoming general elections, but if the ECP such decisions, it would be impossible for general public to take part in elections.
Ghauri said few political parties were bringing foreign investment for the polls in the name of donation. He said joint efforts were needed to bring the honest eadership together and stop foreign agents.
