Sports: Cricket: PCB invites candidates to apply for national coaches’ job

Karachi: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Tuesday invited applications for the positions of head coach, batting coach and fielding coach for the national team. An advertisement has been floated in this regard which is available on PCB website www.pcb.com.pk.

To evaluate and recommend a candidate, PCB has made a committee comprising Subhan Ahmad (COO), Javed Miandad (DG), Intikhab Alam (Director International) and Wasim Akram. The final date for receipt of applications is February 6, 2014. Two months back, Pakistan’s Australian coach Dav Whatmore had announced that he would quit the job after Test series against Sri Lanka, which recently concluded in UAE with a 1-1 draw. Under Whatmore, Pakistan failed to win a Test series, losing to South Africa (2013) and Sri Lanka (2012) and drawing the other three.
