Train firing toll mounts to 5

QUETTA: Death toll in firing on Jaffar Express near Mach in Bolan Saturday night mounted to five.

According to details terrorists fired on Jaffar Express train while running from Rawalpindi to Quetta between Paneer and Peshi stations near Mach yesterday. Four persons including FC personnel were killed and several others were injured. One of the inured succumbed to his injuries today raising the toll to five.

Mach Levies Thana has registered a case under sections 302, 324 against unknown persons.

Meanwhile security has been made very strict following attacks on trains. Decision has been taken to deploy additional FC and Police men along Quetta Section of Pakistan Railways.

For several years incidents of lawlessness are growing rapidly in Balochistan. Particularly trains running between Quetta and Jacobabad are being targeted very frequently.

Keeping this situation in view, Government has decided to take tough steps of security for passengers travelling by trains and decided to deploy additional FC and police men.

It may be recalled here that Bolan area is included in the areas which are affected by lawlessness. Due to bad situation of security trains are passed from Bolan area during day light.
