Uplift projects of tannery zone reviewed

Karachi: Karachi Metropolitan Corporation KMC Administrator Muhammad Hussain Syed has directed concerned officials to complete the development projects in Korangi Tannery Zone as soon as possible so that the basic municipal problems faced by this industrial area could resolve and thousands of people associated with the tannery zone could be facilitated.

He was addressing a meeting to review various development works that had been planned for Korangi Tannery Zone including repairing and maintenance of roads and street lights and disposal of garbage.

He said no negligence in the execution of development projects would be tolerated and therefore the officers make it sure to finish the work within the scheduled time.

He said the tannery zone provides huge foreign exchange to the country from the export of leather goods to other countries and it was essential to bring improvement in its infrastructure. He said that roads and street lights maintenance along with the quick disposal of garbage and waste would be done on preferential basis.

Administrator said that KMC was doing its best to provide all possible municipal help to the industrial zones of Karachi including Korangi Industrial Area and for this purpose it had planned various important projects which would prove beneficial for this important area.

He said thousands of people were associated with the industries located in the tannery zone and therefore all efforts were made to improve the basic infrastructure in this area so that these people could get even better municipal facilities. A timely completion of development projects would not only make it sure but also provide import boost to our industrial sector.
