Balochistan Minister for Home and Tribal affairs Mir Ziaullah Langau has directed Provincial Disaster Management Authority to take urgent measures to assist people affected in snowfall areas.

He directed to use all available resources for removing snow from highways.

Meanwhile, road clearance operation in snow-affected areas of Balochistan is underway.

According to Provincial Disaster Management Authority, snow-removing machinery and rescue teams have been deployed in Kaan Mehtarzai, Ziarat, Khojak, Lak pass Chaman and Mastung areas to clear the road blockades and ensure smooth flow of traffic.

An alert has been issued to all concerned departments to take precautionary measures to avoid avalanche-related accidents in the snow hit areas.
