PISHIN: There prevails peace in the province owing to efforts of present government and its proof is recently held LB polls which were conducted in peaceful atmosphere. This was stated by Balochistan Governor Muhammad Khan Achakzai while addressing elites of the area at Pishin Rest House Tuesday.
He said establishment of law and order if foremost duty of the government and present provincial government is fully aware of this responsibility. It is good sign that all political parties and people fully participated in local government elections.
Referring to menace of narcotics, Governor said he had recently attended a conference in which it was stated that opium is produced in Afghanistan in large quantity and major part of is carried to foreign countries via Balochistan. He called upon people to play their role against use of narcotics, its elimination and checking its smuggling and extend cooperation to the government in this connection.
About problems of the area Governor Achakzai said that representatives like Syed Liaqat Agha and Sardar Mustafa Tareen were striving to resolve them. He said government was paying attention on resolving problems of water and electricity in the area while repair of roads and highway was underway. He aid concerned officials would be asked to speed up pace of work.
He said approval has been accorded for appointment of three thousand posts in levies and soon they would be recruited.
Provincial Minister Sardar Mustafa Tareen and MPA Syed Liaqat Agha, Abdul Samad Achakzai and others in their speeches on the occasion highlighted problems of the area.
