Islamabad: According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 56% of Pakistani mobile phone owners say they own a normal phone/non-feature phone; 9% report owning a smart phone.
A nationally representative sample of mobile phone owning adult men and women, from across the four provinces was asked “Nowadays different kinds of phones are available in the market.
Please tell me what kind of mobile phone do you have?” Responding to this, 56% said normal phone, 34% said feature phone (a phone that has different features such as camera, video etc.) and 9% said smart phone (that have features but also have email). 1% did not respond.
The study was released by Gilani Foundation and carried out by Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International.
The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 1539 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during Mar 10, 2014 – Mar 17, 2014. Error margin is estimated to be approximately ± 2-3 per cent at 95% confidence level.
