59percent Pakistanis say they or someone in their family uses a fairness cream: survey


Islamabad: According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 59% Pakistanis say they or someone in their family uses a fairness cream.

A nationally representative sample of adult men and women, from across the four provinces was asked, “Please tell us if you or any family member of yours uses a fairness cream like ‘Fair and Lovely’ or not?” Responding to this, 59% said yes and 41% said no.

The study was released by Gilani Foundation and carried out by Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International.

The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 2596 men in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during May 05, 2014 – May 12, 2014. Error margin is estimated to be approximately ± 2-3 per cent at 95% confidence level.
