Islamabad: According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 84% Pakistanis who claim they have a personal mobile phone use a personal SIM. Only 7% use someone else’s.
A nationally representative sample of adult men and women (that owns a personal mobile phone), from across the four provinces was asked “Do you use a personal SIM or do you use someone else’s?” Responding to this, 84% said they owned a SIM compared to 7% who did not. 9% did not respond.
The study was released by Gilani Foundation and carried out by Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International.
The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 1667 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during Feb 24, 2014 – Mar 03, 2014. Error margin is estimated to be approximately ± 2-3 per cent at 95% confidence level.
