Islamabad: According to a research study released by Intermedia USA for which Gallup Pakistan conducted fieldwork, 89% of households with mobile money use Telenor’s mobile money service.
A nationally representative sample of households using mobile money, from across the four provinces was asked, “Please tell us, what mobile money service you use?” Answering to this, 89% said Telenor, 7% said UBL and 3% mentioned that they use mobile money services of more than two providers. 1% named Ufone and only 0.4% said MCB.
The study was conducted by Intermedia USA and carried out by Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International.
The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 4,940 households in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during May to September 2012. Error margin is estimated to be approximately ±2-3 per cent at 95% confidence level.
