ISLAMABAD: The 138th birth anniversary of the founder of Pakistan Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah was celebrated throughout the country on Thursday.
Political parties and social, cultural and educational institutions chalked out various programmes to highlight the life and achievements of the Quaid with special reference to Pakistan Movement and his guiding principles of unity, faith and discipline.
It was a public holiday and national flag was hoisted atop all public and private buildings. Qur’an Khawani was also held at the Mazar-e-Quaid in Karachi.
Later, a change of Guard’s ceremony was held at the Mazar-e-Quaid in which cadets of Pakistan Military Academy Kakul took over the guard duties at the Quaid’s mausoleum.
