Islamabad: The Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Muhammad Asif Sandila, called on the Finance Minister, Senator Ishaq Dar to discuss various matters of mutual interest including Pakistan Navy projects, Pakistan’s internal and external security situation and the steps being taken by the government to bring peace and stability to the country.

The Naval Chief thanked the Finance Minister for giving due consideration to the financial requirements of Pakistan Navy in maintaining its capabilities to defend the country’s frontiers at sea.

The Finance Minister assured the Naval Chief that defence of the country remained the Government’s top priority and that it was determined to take all actions, and to commit all resources, required to ensure that no enemy from within or outside could bring any harm to Pakistan.

The Finance Minister also said that enhanced defence capabilities required a strong economy and society, and that the government was focused on accelerating the pace of socioeconomic development in the country to ensure both peace and prosperity for Pakistan.
