ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday issued notices in two separate writ petitions challenging appointment of National Bank of Pakistan’s (NBP) President and Senior Executive Vice Presidents (SEVP).
A single bench comprising Justice Noor-ul-Haq Qureshi heard one of the writ petitions against illegal appointments of SEVP in NBP and called comments and report from the respondents.
The court also issued notices to the respondents in a Civil Miscellaneous Application (CMA) wherein it was prayed that Extraordinary General Meeting of NBP Board of Directors scheduled to be held on February 06, 2015, regarding one point Agenda about Pay Package of the President Syed Iqbal Asharaf, whose appointment has already been challenged in a Writ of Quo Warranto.
Advocate G. M. Chaudhry, appeared on behalf of the petitioners namely Farraukh Nawaz Bhatti- a senior journalist and Shah A. Hassan, a senior citizen who is working for rule of law and justice in society.
