ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Monday suspended the decision of Election Tribunal for re-polling in NA-125 Lahore.
Khawaja Saad Rafiq had approached the court against the verdict of Election Tribunal. A three-member Bench headed by Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali heard the application of Khawaja Saad Rafiq.
The apex court also suspended the Election Tribunal’s decision to suspend election in Punjab Assembly constituency, PP-155. The court also admitted the application of Khawaja Saad Rafiq for regular hearing. The court directed the Election Tribunal to submit record of the elections.
Talking to newsmen after the Supreme Court decision, Khawaja Saad Rafiq said they had reservations on the verdict of the Election Tribunal that is why they moved the apex court. He said they will fight their case on merit and hoped for success. He said they believe in political struggle.
