ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have urged the need for unity of Muslim Ummah to confront the issue of terrorism and violent extremism.
Consensus to this effect was evolved at a meeting between Adviser to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz and a delegation of the Majlis-e-Shura of Saudi Arabia here on Wednesday.
The Saudi delegation was led by Speaker of the Majlis-e-Shura Dr. Abdullah Mohammad Al-Sheikh. Talking to the delegation, Sartaj Aziz said relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia are marked by shared fraternity and brotherhood, religion, culture and common interests.
Both sides expressed satisfaction over the existing state of bilateral relations between the two countries. The head of the Saudi delegation expressed his gratitude on behalf of the custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and highlighted close cooperation between the two countries at regional and international forum.
