Education: (NUST organizes launch of book “International Conflict Resolution: Role of the UN and the OIC”)


ISLAMABAD: National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) organized launch ceremony of Dr Shahid Hashmat’s book “International Conflict Resolution: Role of the UN and the OIC” here on Tuesday.

Rector NUST Engr Mohammad Asghar graced the ceremony as the chief guest. The ceremony coincided with the Annual Book Fair organized by the NUST Book Club.

Brig (r) Agha Ahmad was the guest of honour. He eulogized the efforts of the author for writing on the important subject like conflict resolution. Dr Moonis Ahmar, Dean of Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Karachi and Dr Gulfaraz Ahmed, former federal secretary, also shared their valuable insights on the book. Dr Lutfullah Mangi, Pro Vice Chancellor at Shah Abdul Latif University, Shikarpur Campus highlighted the significance of the book and contribution of the publication to the corpus of knowledge on the subject. His review was read out in his absence.

Addressing the ceremony, Rector NUST Engr. Mohammad Asghar stressed on redefining the roles of the UN and the OIC by making them more assertive to resolve various conflicts across the globe. He remarked that Pakistan needed to prioritize its national interests and sustain its neutral role within power struggle in the Middle East.
