ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United Nations Dr. Maleeha Lodhi on Tuesday called on the international community to ensure protection of humanitarian aid workers in countries and areas affected by armed conflicts.
She issued the call in her capacity as president of the UN Children’s Emergency Fund. She said, humanitarian aid workers have been bombed, kidnapped and killed around the world. She said their lifesaving supplies have been confiscated and their access to those in need have been blocked.
