Islamabad: The government is taking steps to raise enrolment in higher education sector from existing 4.7 to 10 percent by 2015 and 15 percent by 2020. According to media reports investment in higher education shall be increased to 20 percent of the education budget. At the same time, the government also plans to enhance the total education budget to seven percent of GDP. The government will provide world class research facilities to both post-graduate students and faculty by promoting cooperation with universities of international fame.
