HEC, P@SHA to train fresh computing graduates
Islamabad:The Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan and Pakistan Software Houses Association (P@SHA) have agreed to conduct trainings for fresh computing graduates enabling them to acquire job opportunities in local and international market.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Arshad Ali, Executive Director, HEC, Mr. BarkanSaeed, Chairman, P@SHA, Dr. AyubAlvi, Chairman, National Computing Education Accreditation Council (NCEAC) and Vice Chancellors of different universities.
The objective of this meeting was to explore avenues of collaboration among the stakeholders to enable fresh graduates to learn about new and emerging tools and technologies. It also aimed at deliberating on measures to enhance production of computing professionals in order to meet the local as well as international demand for experts in new and emerging tools and technologies. It also brought under consideration the steps need to reduce the market gap between available qualified and skilled human resource and actual required qualification of human resource.
Talking to the meeting participants, Dr. Arshad Ali stressed the need for devising a plan of action to achieve the objectives. He said HEC is committed to building skills of computing graduates so that they may cater to the needs of market.
Mr. Barkan informed the meeting that P@SHA is preparing a list of experts in different new and emerging areas of computing which will be shared with HEC and other stakeholders. These experts will help universities, their faculty and graduates to learn about new tools and technologies.
Dr. AyubAlvi shared NCEAC’s plan to conduct five-day workshops on various emerging technologies which will be attended by faculty, students and industry professionals.
