ISLAMABAD: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif visited CIA Headquarters in Washington and held talks with its Director John Brennon.
According to ISPR Director General Lieutenant General Asim Salim Bajwa, the two sides discussed regional security challenges and way forward.
Army Chief specially highlighted need for permanent stability and requirement of conducive environment in the region for re-initiating Afghan owned and Afghan led reconciliation process.
He said Pakistan is making sincere efforts to bring peace and stability to Afghanistan, as it is in the interest of the entire region.
Director CIA acknowledged Pakistan’s efforts for reconciliation and discussed opportunities presented for future of an enduring regional peace.
