ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has said that the Joint Action Group against terrorism is working round the clock and it will finalise its recommendations by today (Tuesday).
Addressing a press conference here Monday, he called upon the nation to remain alert and vigilant and keep close eye on their surroundings, suspicious people and activities. He said that Pakistan Army was a responsible force and it had never targeted children, women and non-combatants.
The Minister said before starting military operation, Prime Minister and Army Chief at a meeting had decided to avoid and minimise collateral damages. He said the security forces have been fighting this war for several years and now time has come when the entire nation should join it.
Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said Peshawar incident had united the nation to face the challenge of wiping out terrorism from the country. Lauding the Ulema’s role, he said all leading Ulema have openly condemned and opposed terrorism. He said that ninety percent seminaries are not involved in terrorism and all those studying at the seminaries are not terrorists.
Chaudhry Nisar said we have to isolate those who are involved in the terrorist activities. He also called on media organizations for complete blackout of terrorist outfits. He said all political parties have consensus on one point agenda that media would not be allowed to glorify terrorists.
The Interior Minister said meeting would be held with mobile companies to block all unregistered SIMs because five SIMs used by facilitators in Peshawar incident were issued through biometrics system to a female in Southern Punjab.
He said positive talks were held with new Afghan leadership on bilateral cooperation to combat terrorism. To a question, he said the security had been withdrawn from Maulana Aziz and he was not a government cleric. He said nobody would be allowed to challenge writ of the state,
