ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Asif has said that that no ban has been imposed by the government on the new solar and wind energy projects.
Talking to Sindh’s Minister for Energy Syed Murad Ali Shah here on Thursday, he said the new projects will be processed according to the new tariff to be notified by the NEPRA (National Electric Power Regulatory Authority).
He said optimal utilization of indigenous resources especially the renewable energy, is on top of the present government’s power generation policy. He said many projects are already underway while few have started generation.
He said government welcomes investment in the renewable energy projects and is committed to facilitate the investors. Matters relating to energy projects in Sindh also came under discussion during the meeting.
