ISLAMABAD: Rana Tanveer Hussain, Federal Minister for Science and Technology and Defense Production, visited the newly constructed building of the ministry, situated on main Constitution Avenue just opposite to Prime Minister Office on Tuesday.
Kamran Ali Qureshi, Secretary Science and Technology briefed the Minister about the newly constructed building. Highlighting some of the main objectives of the building, the Secretary apprised that the newly constructed building would provide a good working environment for the government employees which lead to enhance their efficiency, save the ministry from heavy rented charges being paid for the existing building and would be helpful for better coordination amongst the subordinate offices, located in the Science Complex, PCSIR, PCST, PSF, COMSATS and COMSTEQUE.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that the government was trying to facilitate its employees by providing them a good working environment so that they could work with full devotion.
“The building will leave good impression on the visitors from private sector, industrial associations, institutes and multinational agencies which is necessary for developing cooperation and support for implementation of S&T programs and activities, he added.
He applauded the consultancy supervision of NESPAK organization on architectural design of the building. It is pertinent to mention here that 95% work on the five storey newly constructed building has been completed. The building has a state of the art design, having the covered areas of 201,153 Sqft with the approved cost of Rs.1310 million.
