Musharraf’s petitions seeking to travel abroad dismissed

Islamabad: The special court constituted to hear treason trial against former president general retired Pervez Musharraf has dismissed his petitions seeking to travel abroad.

During hearing, Barrister Farogh Nasim who appeared in court on behalf of Musharraf had filed petitions seeking approval for his client to travel abroad to see his ailing mother and seeking personal treatment in the US.

In its order the special court stated that Musharraf’s name had been placed on the Exit Control List (ECL) by federal government not court.

The court stated that former president’s name could be removed from ECL by the federal government. Earlier court indicted Pervez Musharraf in the high treason trial and a five-point charge sheet was read to him which the accused Pervez Musharraf denied.
