NA: (Committee constituted to resolve issue of CDA operation against kiosks: NA told)


ISLAMABAD: Responding to a call attention notice of Dr. Ibadullah and others in National Assembly on Tuesday, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Shaikh Aftab Ahmad said a committee has been constituted to resolve the issue of CDA operation against kiosks which will present report within 30 days.

The Chair ordered constitution of a 10-member special committee of the House with the direction to look into the matter and submit compliance report within two weeks.

The chair also directed for restoration of kiosks holding legal lease.

Speaking on a point of order, Syed Kazim Shah demanded that the second phase of local government elections in Sindh should be held under the supervision of Army.

He alleged that the first phase of elections was badly rigged. He also demanded that the case of eleven workers murdered during first phase of election in Khairpur should be transferred to military court.

Dr Nafeesa Shah on a point of order said that judicial inquiry has been ordered by the Sindh Government into the Khairpur incident. She said we should wait the findings of the judicial inquiry. Condemning the Khairpur incident, Dr Fehmida Mirza said facts of the Khairpur incident should be made public.

Leader of the Opposition Syed Khurshid Ahmad Shah said the earthquake affected people particularly of Chitral, Dir, Shangla, Swat and Bajaur are facing great difficulties in the increasing cold weather. He urged the federal and KP governments to take notice of the plight of the quake affectees and address their issues on priority basis.
