NAB disposes of 6532 cases so far: Senate informed


Islamabad: The Senate was informed on Tuesday that National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has so far disposed of 6532 cases and an amount of two hundred and fifty eight billion rupees has been recovered from the accused.

Replying to a question during question hour, Minister for Law, Justice and Human Rights, Pervaiz Rashid said that 1770 persons have been convicted in these cases.

He said an amount of six billion rupees have been deposited in the public exchequer while the remaining amount has been directly paid to the banks in loan default cases and other affectees and organizations.

Answering a question, Minister for Ports and Shipping Kamran Michael said the federal government has transferred 3, 50,000 acres of land to Port Qasim Authority including many islands. He said out of this 31,000 acres have been reserved for the industrial zone.

To another question, Minister for National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination Saira Afzal Tarar informed the house that the government received an amount of one billion and six hundred seventeen million dollars during the last three years for five projects of health sector.

She said these projects include National AIDS Control Programme, National TB Control Programme, Malaria Control Programme, Expanded Programme on Immunization and National Maternal Neonatal and Child Health.

Leader of the House Raja Zafarul Haq laid before the House report on National Internal Security Policy 2014 -2018.

Minister for Law, Justice and Human Rights Pervaiz Rashid laid before the House “The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (Amendment) Ordinance, 2014.

Minister for Science and Technology Zahid Hamid, on behalf of Minister for Finance, Revenue, Economic Affairs, Statistics and Privatization, laid before the House copy of the Money Bill, the Sales Tax (Amendment) Bill 2014 to make recommendations to the National Assembly. The House will now meet today Wednesday at four in the afternoon.
