Only 33% Pakistanis say they heard/read about Siraj-ul-Haq becoming the new Amir of Jamat-i-Islami, Poll


Islamabad: According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, Only 33% Pakistanis say they heard/read about Siraj-ul-Haq becoming the new Amir of Jamat-i-Islami.

A nationally representative sample of adult men and women, from across the four provinces was asked “Recently, Siraj-ul-Haq was made the new leader of Jamat-i-Islami. Did you hear/read anything about this?” Responding to this, 33% said yes whereas 67% said no.

The study was released by Gilani Foundation and carried out by Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International.

The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 2538 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during Apr 7, 2014 – Apr 14, 2014. Error margin is estimated to be approximately ± 2-3 per cent at 95% confidence level.
