Islamabad: According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, only 46% Pakistani males claim they ever talked to the Imam at their local mosque.
A nationally representative sample of adult men, from across the four provinces was asked “Have you ever talked to your local mosque’s Imam?” Responding to this, 46% said yes and 53% replied no. 1% did not respond.
Following up, respondents who replied yes were asked, “When was the last time you talked to your local mosque’s Imam?” In response, 61% said in the previous month, 23% said it has been 1 to 6 months and 15% said it has been more than six months. 1% did not respond.
The study was released by Gilani Foundation and carried out by Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International.
The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 1492 men in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during Mar 03, 2014 – Mar 10, 2014. Error margin is estimated to be approximately ± 2-3 per cent at 95% confidence level.
