ISLAMABAD: According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 90% Pakistanis believe that it is important to forbid Afghan residents to enter Pakistani borders without a visa in order to curtail terrorism in the country.
A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked, “In order to curtail terrorism in the country, it is important to forbid Afghan residents from entering Pakistani borders without a visa.
Please tell, to what extent do you agree or disagree with this?” In response to this question, 67% agree a lot, 23% agree to an extent while 7% disagree to an extent and 2% disagree a lot.
The study was released by Gilani Research Foundation and carried out by Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International.
The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 1755 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during January 25 – February 01, 2016. Error margin is estimated to be approximately ± 2-3 per cent at 95% confidence level.
