Outgoing ambassador of Norway calls on President


Islamabad: Ms. Cecilie Landsverk, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway in Pakistan paid a farewell call on President Mamnoon Hussain at the Aiwan-e-Sadr on Wednesday.

Discussing Pakistan- Norway bilateral ties, the President said that Pakistan attaches great importance to its bilateral relations with Norway based on mutual trust and goodwill and desires to further strengthen it to the mutual benefit of the people of the two countries.

Appreciating Norway’s long-term partnership with Pakistan in economic, trade and commercial relations, the President said that both countries have extended support to each other at various international forums, adding that Pakistan look forward to continued cooperation in various spheres.

About Pakistani Community in Norway, the President observed that presence of large Pakistani Diaspora of over 40,000 people in Norway acts as a living bridge for promoting people to people contacts between the two countries.

The President appreciated Ambassador Cecilie Landsverk‘s diplomatic services in bringing Pakistan and Norway further closer during her over three years stay as Ambassador in Pakistan.

The President wished the outgoing ambassador good health and success in her future career.

Outgoing Ambassador thanked the President and the government of Pakistan for the support she was extended during her tenure as ambassador.
