Islamabad: The Health authorities have set up more than 40 transit points to administer polio vaccines to counter threats of polio virus spread in the wake of displacement of IDPs.
According to an official of UNICEF, these transit points have been set up at FR Bannu, Bannu, D.I.Khan, Kohat, Hangu and Kurram Agency. Till now after arrival of IDPs about two hundred and fifty thousand children have been administered polio vaccines.
The UNICEF officials also advised parents to ensure administration of polio drops to their children as virus spread more rapidly in the prevailing summer season.
