Islamabad: A space has been earmarked for the purpose of car parking at Rawalpindi Regional Passport Office in order to provide passport applicants with the parking facility from today (Thursday).
It is pertinent to mention here that roads surrounding the passport office had started suffering from traffic-related problems in the wake of its shifting from Hajj Complex to Bakery Chowk, Rawalpindi in the recent past.
The road users of the area faced traffic-related problems as passport applicants used to park their vehicles on road resulting into choking and congestion of traffic. “With the provision of parking facility, passport applicants in particular and public in general will be facilitated,” observed the DG Passport.
Meanwhile, the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) has installed a booth for depositing passport fee at the premises of Regional Passport Office, Rawalpindi which will start its working from today.
The introduction of NBP booths at passport premises is a right step forward towards public facilitation as it saves them from the hassle of visiting NBP for depositing passport fee before going to the passport office for passport issuance.
It is further informed that City Police Officer, Rawalpindi has deployed one ASI and four constables at the Rawalpindi passport office in order to avoid any untoward incident and to ensure safety and security.
