ISLAMABAD: President Pakistan Businessmen and Intellectuals Forum (PBIF) Mian Zahid Hussain has condemned the brutal and tragic attack on peaceful Ismaili community which left at least 45 dead and demanded arrest of the terrorists.
In a statement issued here on Thursday, he expressed sympathies with the aggrieved families he said that government should leave no stone unturned in nabbing the masterminds of the devastating and gory crime.
He said that ritual condemnation by the top government functionaries and suspending police officers will remain counterproductive to deal with the terrorists who have brought a bad name to Pakistan by targeting the Ismaili community which was a conspiracy to internationalise the terrorism issue.
Main Zahid Hussain said that the Karachi operation had improved the environment which has been shattered again calling for a policy shift to focus on other parts of country besides FATA.
Rangers and police are working well but government needs to be equipped them with latest anti-terror tools so that these departments can cope with the menace effectively, he demanded.
He said that government should provide fool-proof security to the soft targets which have become favourite for the terrorists whose roots remain untraced. He demanded an end to the distinction between good and bad militants.
In the backdrop of the incident, a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and attended by Army chief Gen Raheel Sharif sent a strong message across that the nation will not be terrified by these cowardly acts of terror.
