ISLAMABAD: Third special flight of the PIA brought back another 134 Pakistanis from Yemen on Sunday late night.
According to a statement of Foreign Office spokesperson Tasnim Aslam, this number was slightly less than what was earlier anticipated, since some families residing in Sana’a, chose to stay on in Yemen, despite having earlier registered for evacuation.
She said with the completion of this phase of evacuation, the total number of Pakistanis brought back from Yemen has reached 1,000. She said another naval evacuation is planned for today from the port city of “Al Hudeida” for around 50 compatriots.
She said it will almost culminate this extraordinary exercise, carried under directives of the Prime Minister to bring back home all stranded Pakistanis in Yemen.
