ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister of Belarus Andrey Kobyakov was given warm welcome on his arrival at the Prime Minister’s House here on Tuesday.
Prime Minister Mohammad Nawaz Sharif received his Belarusian counterpart, who had arrived in the capital on Monday night on a three-day official visit. The two Prime Ministers warmly shook hands and greeted each other.
A contingent of tri-services guard presented guard of honour to the visiting dignitary, who also reviewed the parade. The national anthems of both the countries were played.
Prime Minister Sharif introduced Prime Minister Kobyakov and his delegation with the members of his cabinet. Later, the two Prime Ministers proceeded for one-on-one talks. This will be the first ever visit by a Belarus Prime Minister to Pakistan.
Pakistan and Belarus enjoy close and cordial relations. The Prime Minister of Pakistan visited Belarus in August 2015. Earlier, the Belarus President Mr. Alexander Lukashenko had paid a State visit to Pakistan in May this year. Prime Minister Kobyakov’s visit will help in strengthening the existing ties between the two countries.
