ISLAMABAD: The Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting has started in Malta. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is representing Pakistan at the summit.
The Prime Minister is accompanied by First Lady Begum Kulsum Nawaz and Advisor on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz. The PM will present Pakistan’s point of view on violent extremism and radicalism, Sustainable Development Goals and migration.
On the sidelines, the Prime Minister will hold meetings with British Prime Minister David Cameron, French President Francois Hollande and Prince Charles of Wales. He will attend a banquets separately hosted by the British Queen and Prime Minister of Malta Joseph Muscat.
Pakistan is one of the eight founding members of the Commonwealth, and is enhancing its relations with the organization.
