ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Mohammad Nawaz Sharif has said that the incumbent government accords high priority to the development and progress of Gilgit Baltistan.
He was talking to Chief Minister Gilgit Baltistan Hafiz Hafeez Ur Rehman here on Thursday. The Prime Minister said the ongoing development projects would not only generate economic activities in the region, but reduce unemployment and poverty as well.
He assured the Chief Minister that the federal government will extend all out support to uplift of the people of Gilgit Baltistan. He stressed appropriate steps to attract foreign and local tourists.
The Chief Minister apprised the Prime Minister about the upcoming elections of Gilgit Baltistan Council and discussed the names of the proposed candidates. He stressed that all tickets should be given with consensus and on merit.
