ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Mohammad Nawaz Sharif has said that PML-N Government is working for welfare of farmers’ community in the country.
He was addressing cheques distribution ceremony under the PM’s Kissan Package at Jhang on Tuesday. He said that despite financial hardships, government has announced an unprecedented Kissan Package of three hundred and forty-one billion rupees.
He said that we are doing politics of values thinking of national interests instead of personal gains. He assured that government will facilitate and support the farmers and would not leave them alone at the hours of need.
The Prime Minister said that PML-N Government believes in politics of public service rather than for any negative cause. He said that government’s Kissan Package was objected by some opponents but it was legally supported by the Supreme Court, so that we could serve the farmer community speedily.
The Prime Minister said Kissan Package will benefit to twelve lac and seventy-seven farmers in the country. He said government is also considering to provide free medical facilities to poor and deserving people. He said government is taking measures for rehabilitation of quake-affectees whose houses were damaged.
Talking about load-shedding issue, the Prime Minister said concrete measures are being taken to overcome it during next two and half years.
Earlier, addressing the ceremony, Federal Minister for Food Security Sikandar Hayat Bosan said the agriculture sector is the backbone of our economy and a revolutionary Kissan Package was introduced to facilitate farmers.
Later, the Prime Minister distributed cheques of financial assistance among small farmers. Information Minister, Pervaiz Rashid was also present on this occasion.
