ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Mohammad Nawaz Sharif chaired a meeting here on Monday to review Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP).
Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal gave a presentation to the meeting about the PSDP spending of the current financial year besides the proposed allocation for the next year, including projects which are part of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and the LNG-based power projects.
The Prime Minister directed steps should be taken to fast-track completion of important projects and ensure that the allocated amount is fully utilized. He said maximum utilization of funds allocated for PSDP should be ensured so that development projects are undertaken in all parts of the country.
He also approved change in the release mechanism of PSDP funds in each quarter of the year for efficient utilization of funds. He was informed that 72 percent of the allocated amount of 525 billion rupees has so far been released for the projects in Current Financial Year 2014-15.
