PM: (PM for Pak-Uzbek joint ventures to enhance trade upto $300m)

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said that Pakistan and Uzbekistan should work together to increase trade to the level of three hundred million dollars.

He said this while speaking during a visit to heavy machinery exhibition in Samarqand on Wednesday. He was briefed by about local manufactured machinery.

The Prime Minister said Uzbekistan and Pakistan should take benefit of each other’s experiences. Uzbek Prime Minister said Germany, Japan and Holland are cooperating with Uzbekistan for manufacturing of heavy machinery.

Earlier, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif visited Azadi Square in Tashkent. On arrival at Azadi Square, the Prime Minister was received by the ruler of the Tashkent City Roshan Usmanov.

A contingent of armed forces of Uzbekistan presented salute to the Prime Minister. The Prime Minister laid flowers on the Azadi monument. Azadi Square is important Centre of national ceremonies.

First Lady Begum Kulsum Nawaz, Prime Minister’s Special Assistants Tariq Fatemi and Shujaat Azim were accompanying the Prime Minister. PM Nawaz Sharif also visited the Mazar of Hazrat Imam Bukhari Rahmatullah Aleh in Samarkand.

He offered fateha and prayed for the progress and prosperity of the country. Imam Bukhari is known for authoring the hadith collection known as Sahih al-Bukhari. On his arrival in Samarkand from Tashkent Uzbek Prime Minister and Governor Samarkand welcomed Nawaz Sharif.
