ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Mohammad Nawaz Sharif and First Lady, Begum Kulsoom Nawaz visited Furuset Sports Hall, a 100-year old sports facility, in Oslo on Wednesday, on the invitation of the Prime Minister of Norway, Mrs. Erna Solberg.
There both the Prime Ministers witnessed a friendly cricket match between Falken Cricket Club and Girls’ Friends Cricket Club on this occasion. These clubs largely comprised Pakistani origin school girls, but also included local Norwegian children.
The Prime Minister complimented the Norwegian Prime Minister for taking the initiative of actively promoting sport activities in the country that has brought the various communities together on one platform.
Talking to parents of the players the Prime Minister said that cricket is a very popular game in Pakistan and the country produces excellent quality cricket kits which would be sent to the Clubs allowing the players to improve their cricket skills. He also invited the players to visit Pakistan.
Advisor to PM, Sartaj Aziz; Special Assistant to PM, Tariq Fatemi and MoS for Education, Baligh ur Rahman were also present on this occasion.
