Islamabad: For an independent and transparent third-party monitoring and audit of Prime Minister’s Youth Skill Development Programme under the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, a contract awarding ceremony between National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) and RSM Avais Hyder Liaquat Nouman Chartered Accountants was held here Monday.
The decision to conduct third-party monitoring and evaluation of the scheme was ordered by Mohtarma Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Chairperson PMYP to assess the PMYSDP. Advisor to Chairperson Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, MNA Ms Leila Khan and Executive Director NAVTTC, Mr. Khalid Latif witnessed the ceremony.
The first phase of Prime Minister’s Youth Skill Development Programme is currently in progress all over the country, in which 25000 students from all the federating units including FATA, GB and AJK are being trained in more than 100 professional trades will pass out in September this year.
80 % of the demand-driven courses are of 06 month duration including one month on-job training, whereas the 20 % spread over 04 months time including 01 month on-job training.
These courses are taught free of cost besides payment of Rs. 2000 stipend per student per month. Students from FATA are, however, being paid Rs. 3000 per month per student.
