Islamabad: President Mamnoon Hussain has called upon international community to help developing and under-developed world in reducing risks of infectious diseases by sharing advanced knowledge and expertise.
He said this during a meeting with UN Secretary General’s Special Envoy on HIV/AIDS in Asia & Pacific, Prasada Rao in Islamabad on Friday.
The President said HIV/AIDS is an issue of global concern and the international community must focus on Aids prevention and cure in less developed countries.
He said the federal and provincial governments are fully alive to their responsibilities to work towards prevention and cure of the HIV and assured that the government would continue to focus on enhancing the capabilities of the healthcare professionals to cope with the challenges of HIV and AIDS.
